The Bluegills
Formed in 2005, The Bluegills were a twang-ified Seattle rock'n'roll band that brought together two former Texas guitar hands, Michael Hill and Jake Williams (12lb.Test, The Baptist Generals), and two veteran local musicians, bassist Trevor McCorkindale (Stefanie Lee, X-Ray) and drummer Jeremy Sever (Willow, Penningtones, Stefanie Lee).
Led by singer and songwriter Hill, The Bluegills fused a potent twin-guitar attack, a rough-and-tumble roots-rock sensibility and can't-get-'em-outta-yer-head pop hooks. The band's original lineup featured Hill, Williams, Sever and bassist Marc Brown.
McCorkindale came aboard in early 2006 following Brown's departure, and drummer Jay Weaver (How's Bayou, The Nancy Boys) took up where Sever left off a few months later. The Bluegills performed in and around Seattle until the summer of 2006.
